HYDERABAD: A total of 10 marks in each subject for all students from class I to class X will be allocated fo rcompulsary questions on environment from this academic year, said W.G.Prasanna Kumar, director, Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps (NGC).
Speaking to press persons here on friday, Mr.Prasanna Kumar said the chairman of the core committee constituted to monitor the implementation of the supreme court judgement on Environment Education(EE), Jayshree Sharma, held a review meeting on the current status in the state two days ago.
Those present at the review meeting included officials of State Council for Educational Research and Training, sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan and the (NGC)
Two Projects
Apart from the 10 marks for all students, from this academic year every student from class VI to class X will have to do two projects each year on environment which get graded and appear in the progress cards.
This is the requirement under the latest orders of the supreme court and more than 90,000 schools in the state will ahve to implement them, Mr.Prasanna Kumar said.
Every examination in every subject from monthly test, quarterly, half yearly, term and annual exams should have a separate section with 10 percent compulsary marks from the grand total for questions on concepts of Environment Education, he said.
